Lets not forget that in the 1930s Conservative, Evangelical, Christian Fundamentalist were some of the biggest most devout followers of Adolf Hitler. From 1932-1945 they supported him and his Nazi party no matter what happened. Now the Adolf Hitler of the 21st century George W. Bush also enjoys the absoulute full support of Christian Fundamentalist no matter how bad, evil, un-christian and anti-american his actions are. The patriot act is in no way diffrent than Hitler's enabling act. Support for the Republican party by Christian Fundamentalist is motivated by 2 only 2 things and they are 1. Hate reproductive rights 2. Hate gays. These two issues get them to vote republican, if they were real christians they would be more concerned about the two things Jesus spoke about 1. HELP THE POOR 2. HELP THE SICK. But instead all that motivates them is hate, that is why conservative movements exist because there is no greater motivating factor for human beings to get active than Fear, Hate and Ignorance. I am sure most of us have read Thomas Frank's book "What's The Matter With Kansas" it is both great and scary. Scary like a Steven King novel, About the insanity that is taking place in our own country. It talks about how the republican party elites feed off of Fear, Hate and Ignorance to get stupid whites in rural areas to vote for them. Republicans use the same tactics that the Nazi's used, The nazi's hated abortion rights, the nazi's hated and pick on homosexuals, the nazi's hated the separation of church and state, the nazis hated intellectuals and the nazis claimed to be more moral than their opponents. The right-wing of the republican part is almost identical to the nazi party in almost every way except in their hatred of jews, Which the Christian Fundamentalist still have but do not show it because in their minds the jews must all be in Isreal for the rapture to happen. As you can probably guess i have a lot of hate for these wingnuts but i feel that my hatred for them is justified. I worked on the John Kerry campaign between may-november 2004, We all wanted him to win for real reasons. Democrats are real people with real values and real concerns and we are motivated by love not hate for our nation and its people, Yet these heartless monsters of the Religious Right there are at least 20 million of them (i got that figure from the exit polls) dare to lecture us and refuse to vote for us because of moral values. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT MORAL VALUES ARE. According to their views it seems like they would feel comfortible with Adolf Hitler as their leader. That is why earliar today i posted a diary (it did not get much response) about ways to fight back against the Religious Right I said that The DNC should Take A NO TOLERANCE POLICY on right -wing churches and that we the people onthe ground should investigate in our own communities to hunt and track right-wing churches (45,000 churches helped the Bush campaign) And report them To The IRS and have teir tax exemption status removed and if wee lucky investigated and charged for tax fraud. Churches across America are becoming more and more political. 45,000 churches helped the bush campaign in 2004, it makes me so mad that no one is making this an issue because it is illegal for churches to be used in anything political. There tax exemption status should and can be removed by the IRS. The Southern Baptist Convention is the most Evangelical and the most political of all the christian denominations in the united states, they have 41,000 churches scattered all over America but mainly in the south. I feel that The DNC should take a NO TOLERANCE POLICY when dealing with right-wing churches, they should be reported to the IRS and not only have their tax exemption status removed but should be investigated for tax fraud. Now I would like to ask Everyone reading this diary to Investigate in your own communities to find politically active churches (the evangelicals are tempted the most to go into politics) And to report them to the IRS or if you do not want to call them yourself Contact People For The American Way or Americans United For The Separation Of Church And State. That incidnt in North Carolina was only the most famous but just think about how many similar things like that happen every year. The religious Right is Desparatly Trying to establish a Theocracy in this country so i just see it fit to hurt them were it really hurts in the wallet. The rocky mountain west is going to become a Democratic party stronghold within the next decade. Want proof-1. Governorships, Montana, Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming all have Democratic Governors, And in Idaho's last Gubernatorial election in 2002 the Democratic nominee for governor got 42% of the vote. 2. Senators, Colorado just got Salazar for 6 years he won 51%-47%, Nevada Re-elected Harry Reid 61%-35%, Montana has Max Baucus and New Mexico has Jeff bingaman. Conrad Burns will no doubt be ousted in montana his poll numbers are horrible. 3. House, Arizona has 2 of 8 house seats occupied by Democrats. But the Religious Right will tell you its 3 of 7 because Jim Kolbe R-8th district is PRO-CHOICE, PRO-CIVIL UNION (Because he is Gay) PRO-STEM CELL RESEARCH and PRO-ENVIROMENT and he won his election by 60%-36%, The west will elect progressives. Colorado has 3 of 7 house seats occupied by Democrats, but two of the four Republican seats are very vulnerable Marilyn Musgrave only won by 6 points and Bob Beauprez's seat will most likely go for the Dem in 2006 because he is retiring and he only won 55%-43%. Nevada has 1 of 3 Democrats in its house delegation but Jon Porter's seat is vulnerable he only won 55%-40%. New Mexico has 1 of 3 Democrats, Republican Heather Wilson hardly won 54%-46%. Utah UTAH has a Democratic congressmen Jim Matheson who has a very large district. Wyoming almost went for a Democrat, Republican Barbara Cubin only won 55%-42%. 4. and finally State legislatures-Colorado Dems took back the state senate 35-30 and the state house 18-17 in 2004. Montana's state senate is now 27-23 controlled by Dems and their house is tied 50-50. Nevada Dems control the state house 26-16 and the senate could be won it is only 12-9 controlled by the repugs. New Mexico , State senate 42-28 and state house is 23-19. Kerry did so much better than Gore did in these states but i won't get into those numbers now. But you can see the tide is turning in the west, and these facts should make all Democrats feel good. The reason i feel is that a lot of westerners are some what similar to Barry Goldwater, they are libertarian and don't like goverment getting into private matters and disdain the religious right. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. Dean is absoultly right when he said the republican party is "pretty much a white christian party", because the republicans under Reagan and especially under Bush have basically become the party of the stupid white man. That is there base, And i strongly belive that racism is a force that helps them in the south. Between 1860 and 1964 the Democrats always could count on the south for electoral votes, just look at the presidential election maps of 1876,1880,1884,1888,1892,1896,1900,1904,1908,1920,1924,1928,1952,and 1956 especially. The reason i feel the republicans could never win the south is because they were the "party of Lincoln". Lets not forget that when Strom Thurmond ran for president in 1948 he won 4 southern states and in 1968 when George Wallace ran he won 5 southern states. So After Democrats became the "party of Johnson" the south pretty much turned away from the Democrats just as Johnson had predicted when he turned to Bill Moyers in 1964 after he signed the civil rights bill and said "I think we have just handed the south to the republicans for the rest of my lifetime and yours" unfortunately he was right. Barry Goldwater was the first republican to win 5 southern states in the deep south, they had all gone for Kennedy in 1960. I just cannot understand the ignorance and hatred i see in the south (among registered republicans, i do not mean to insult all southerners) but since 1964 the south has become the electoral vote base for the republican party. Nixon won the entire south in 1972, Reagan won it in 1984 and Bush (the icon for the stupid white man) won it in 2000 and 2004, even when Democrats have southerners on the ballot Al Gore and John Edwards could not help bring in one southern state. Bush comes off as uneducated and looks and sounds like gutter trash, this is why he is so popular in the mind's of Anti-Intellectual un-educated White men in the south, who rally behind him because they "know" he is one of them. Ibelive as the republican party drift's more and more to the religous right the south will become the only region they will be able to win.
Mike Malloy is one of my favorite host's on Air America, He has won the New York City Achievment in radio award (AIR) and is one of the most lively of ALL the Air America Host. But a lot of the station's air america has, the program dirctor's find him "to radical" so they put someone else on during the 10:00 pm-1:00am time slot including Alan Colmes. Lionel is the one they usally go for. On at least 12 of AAR's affiliates Lionel replace's Mke. Mike is on at least 26 Affiliates.
If any one reading this Diary knows of a church that was active in the bush campaign, made endorsments,registered people to vote, took people to polling places,and is supportive of Bush and the republican party, PLEASE contact the IRS or have Americans United or the People For The American Way do it for you so there tax exemption status can be removed. I know that southern baptist convention churches are the most political but please do some investigating in your own communities and take the fight to them. Those worthless cowards run away from politics the moment their tax exemption status is threatened. So please lets make these Wingnuts pay up.
I think a good way to show the repugs just how powerful we are is to keep the money rolling into the DNC. On the day That Dean called them "pretty much a white christian party" The DNC got 100,000 dollars.Dean has raised $20 million so far. If we can, all of us Dean lovers (I figure that's about 3 or 4 million people) donate just $5 a week, we can make those idiots madder and madder. They will never have the kind of grassroots support that we have, First we know how to use computers, second we are empowered and third the world we want is possible-meaning we will not try to turn the world into a 1950's sitcom.

Richard Nixon won re-election by 23 points in 1972, Ronald Reagan won re-election by 18 points in 1984 and Bush (the most right-wing president we have ever had) had to fight for his life to win by just 3 points in 2004. 59 million Americans voted for John Kerry, the most Liberal Democratic Nominee since Michael Dukakis in 1988. MoveOn.org has 3.5 Million members that's more than the Christian Coalition (which only has 1.2 million members).Rush Limbaugh once had 22 million listeners and 681 stations now he is down to just 14 million on 565 stations. Dennis Miller got cancelled and joe scarbourgh only has 300,000 viewers as opposed to Jon Stewarts Daily Show's 1.3 million. Fox news has lost 1 million viewers (that's gotta hurt) and Progressive talk radio has taken off Thom Hartman, Doug Stephen, Stephanie Miller, Ed schultz (who is nearing 100 affiliates)Air America radio (which has 4 million listeners) and Lionel reach millions of people every day. Blogs, Think Tanks and books pop up all the time promoting Progressive ideals. Howard Dean has had record fundraising success $20 million and counting, plus he is getting praise from the 50 state chairs. We will all one day look back on 2004 as our 1964 where we said Never Again, as the old Nixon and Reagan voters Die off and as the senators and congressmen who came in with them Retire and Die off we will take back congress.
